Why use Ketonor boluses?
Ketosis is a metabolic disturbance in which blood glucose levels are low and substances called ketones accumulate in the blood; it leads to loss of appetite and low milk production.
Ketonor boluses helps to reduce the risk of ketosis (acetonaemia) Each 135g bolus contains fast available glucogenic energy sources (propionates 104,000mg), with slow release cobalt, selenium, niacin and yeast (Saccharomyces cervisiae). Fast-available glucogenic energy sources (propionates 104,000mg), with slow release cobalt, selenium, niacin and yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae).
When & how do I use them?
Administer two Ketonor boluses shortly after calving and, if necessary an additional bolus 12 hours later. Two Ketonor boluses given at calving provides readily available energy sources during those crucial first hours. This encourages the cow to start eating and drinking as normal. The formulation also contains niacin, cobalt and yeast to support the liver, rumen and immune system.
